Understand Doddridge County Releases
Doddridge County released inmates do not all follow one path. North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility is the main custody site for local bookings, but WVDCR runs it as a regional institution. It serves eight counties. A person held there may have a Doddridge case, a case from another served county, a state sentence, or a federal custody link. The case county, booking episode, and agency identifier are therefore just as important as the building name.
Leaving the public roster is only a clue. A person may have posted bond, received a dismissal, completed time, entered probation or parole, transferred within WVDCR, or passed to another authority. A true release to the community should be tied to a dated release entry and the legal authority behind it. When the event is a transfer, custody continues even though the old facility record may change or vanish.
Key terms: Bond is pretrial release under court conditions. Time served is a sentence calculation. Parole follows prison custody. Probation is court supervision. Discharge ends the controlling term, subject to another hold or sentence.
Doddridge County Release Types
The words in the event field matter. They tell the reader which office can confirm what happened next. A court may authorize release before jail staff finish out-processing, while a facility record can show the actual exit time. A release reason can be paired with another hold. Match full name, date of birth or age, booking or offender number, case number, facility, and booking range before joining records from several systems.
Read Doddridge County Release Records
A focused request works better than asking for every paper in a file. The ideal Doddridge County release record links identity, the custody episode, the event, its legal authority, and the time it occurred. Public versions may omit protected material, but these are the useful fields to name.

Request Doddridge County Release Proof
West Virginia FOIA requires a reasonably specific request to the custodian. For regional-jail custody, direct it to WVDCR and identify NCRJCF. The Doddridge County Sheriff's Office holds its own arrest, incident, and transport records, but it is not the verified operator of a separate county jail. Ask each office only for records it created or maintains.
- Give the full name, aliases, date of birth if known, booking range, facility, and case number.

Security, investigatory, confidential, sealed, and other exempt material may still be withheld under §29B-1-4.

Doddridge County belongs to the Third Judicial Circuit with Pleasants, Ritchie, and Wirt counties. Both the magistrate and circuit clerks are at the county courthouse in West Union. Expunged Doddridge County Release Records
A missing older record can reflect legal relief, not a failed search. West Virginia Code §61-11-26 allows petitions for specified eligible misdemeanors and nonviolent felonies. Its waiting period runs from the latest of conviction, completion of incarceration, or completion of supervision. It is generally one year for one eligible misdemeanor, two years for multiple eligible misdemeanors, and five years for an eligible nonviolent felony. Many offenses are excluded.
When relief is granted, the court seals covered court records and directs other covered agencies to expunge their records, subject to limited later access. Do not assume a release record or photo must remain public. Read the order, note which agencies received it, and ask each custodian how it was applied. Juvenile and sealed information should not be published.

Why did the person leave the roster? OIS is active-inmate focused, so absence can mean release, transfer, timing, or another custody change.

Doddridge County WVDCR Offender Search
WVDCR's landing page separates daily incarcerations, jail offender search, prison offender search, and escapee or absconder results. The regional search is session-driven and framed as an active-inmate service. Record the exact label on an individual page. Never turn an active entry into release history or a missing entry into proof of freedom.

DCR uses distinct date terms. A minimum discharge date or final release date is based on sentence calculation. A parole eligibility date only marks when consideration can start and creates no right to release. If historical detail is gone online, request the movement, calculation, release, or discharge record.
Doddridge County Recent Release Search
No official Doddridge sheriff or NCRJCF rolling 24-hour or 72-hour release list was verified. The state system offers active-inmate tools and daily admissions, but admissions are not releases. There is also no verified sheriff app with a local release or mugshot feed. Doddridge Connect provides county news, alerts, calendars, and links, not jail-status reporting.
For a recent event, save the OIS result, look for a new bond, dismissal, sentence, or other order in the docket, then ask NCRJCF for the release type and time. VINELink can supply a custody-change alert when the person and agency match. This chain avoids calling a transfer a release.
Note: No official retention window promises that a released NCRJCF record remains visible for one or three days.
Doddridge County VINE Release Alerts
West Virginia VINE supplies custody information for people reported by participating WVDCR facilities, including the regional-jail system. Search one person through VINELink by selecting West Virginia and entering a name or ID. Review every match and compare the facility, age, and other identifiers. Open the correct result, then record the exact custody phrase, reporting agency, and update time. A result marked released is useful event evidence, but the NCRJCF record is still needed to distinguish bond, time served, parole, transfer, or another disposition.
Registration begins on the matched record. Choose a supported custody-change event and the phone or email option shown by the live service. Telephone enrollment may require a PIN to acknowledge notices or manage the registration. Complete any confirmation step and retain the registration details. WVDCR warns that VINE does not call while a person is moving between facilities; notice follows arrival at the next facility. Silence during that gap should not be treated as freedom.
Written statutory notice follows another route. WVDCR instructs a requester seeking release or parole-hearing notice to write both WVDCR and the West Virginia Parole Board because those are separate entities. A written request sent to WVDCR also enrolls the requester in automated VINE notification. The live alert, facility record, and court or Board action answer different parts of the same event.
Getting Home After Doddridge Release
NCRJCF's official visitation rules say there is no local transportation and no bus service. They identify the nearest taxi service as being in Clarksburg or Parkersburg. That is a real planning limit for families coming to Greenwood, but it is not a promise that a taxi will be available when out-processing ends.
Call the facility before traveling. Confirm that release is complete, ask where an approved pickup may wait, and ask what the person may take when leaving. The public NCRJCF page does not state a daily release time, public exit door, family waiting area, or guaranteed ride. WVDCR has statewide release transportation and personal-property policies, yet their titles do not establish the local gate routine.
Doddridge Facility and Case County
North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility opened in August 2001 and is described by WVDCR as one of the state's largest jails. It is in Doddridge County while serving Doddridge, Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Pleasants, Ritchie, Wirt, and Wood counties. A search filtered only by facility can therefore return people whose cases belong elsewhere.
Its combined role changes release terms. A pretrial bond event, a regional transfer, parole from a state sentence, and final discharge can involve the same building. Each needs different proof. The case county identifies the court path; custody class identifies the WVDCR search; the release or movement record shows whether the person went free or stayed with another custodian.
Doddridge County Supervision After Release
Parole, probation, community corrections, and discharge are not the same. The West Virginia Parole Board decides parole. WVDCR Parole Services supervises parolees. Probation belongs to the Judiciary and rests on a court order. Doddridge probation contacts are routed through Third Circuit offices in Pleasants and Ritchie counties, so the filing clerk should confirm the assignment.
A 2024 state announcement awarded the Doddridge County Commission $52,500 to continue county community corrections. That program is a judicial alternative for qualifying people needing less than institutional custody. Participation does not prove a jail term ended or all supervision is complete. Doddridge County Federal Custody Checks
NCRJCF contractually housed U.S. Marshals Service detainees in fiscal year 2024. A person can leave the regional facility and remain in federal custody. USMS has no public release locator like BOP. Use the federal docket for detention or release orders and ask USMS for its record when it was the custodian.
For a sentenced federal prisoner, the BOP Inmate Locator accepts a federal number or a name with narrowing details. A release date or “Not in BOP custody” applies only to BOP. It does not rule out state custody, immigration detention, USMS custody, probation, or federal supervised release.
The locator is the federal-sentence route, while a pretrial USMS matter still requires the docket and agency inquiry.
ICE's locator is separate and only matters when immigration custody is plausible. It covers current ICE custody and people released from ICE custody within the last 60 days. Exact-name behavior and limited history make no result weak proof. No official evidence links NCRJCF to an ICE detention contract.
